Ranks and Belts
Dark Alley Defence follows a structured educational program. When you advance in rank in the program you achieve a new belt. There are ten stages of advancement and ten belts to achieve. Unlike other martial arts we do not believe in granting multiple tiers to the last level of advancement. Once you have achieved Black Belt rank; that marks you as being in the most advanced stage of development. There will always be more to learn and more to train, as self defence is always evolving, so too will our system.
Once you have attained your highest rank, you have three options:
Advanced Learning Program (Rank 10/Black Belt Required)
The Advanced Learning Program is intended as an extended education program for those who want to know even more than what they have learned in 21 months. The world is harsh and continues to grow more-so, thus we must rise to meet it and continue evolving as students of self defence and survival. The cost of continuing your education, regardless of what program you were on before is $65.00 a month per person, to be collected at the beginning of the month prior to your training.
Instructor Program (By Head Instructor Approval Only)
The Instructor Program is intended for those who wish not only to continue their education but also learn how to teach this system to others. You may only enter the program at the approval of the Head Instructor.
The requirements for applying to the Instructor Program are as follows:
The Instructor Program can vary in length, but generally should be completed after just 3 months. The cost for this program is the same as the Advanced Learning Program.
Critical Force Program (Military, Police and Correctional Officers Only!)
This is strictly for Military personnel, Police officers, and Correctional Officers only! These men and women protect our cities, states, and country by putting their life on the line every day. This course teaches the use of Critical Force. Applications that are designed only to ensure the survival of these men and women, but also if need be, meet deadly force with deadly force. These techniques range from simple to advanced and every one of them can be learned in a very short amount of time. These techniques are brutal and often deadly.
In order to be accepted into this program you must have the proper identification proving you belong to a branch of the military or are employed by some type of law enforcement.
This Program is one of the shortest ones we offer and is merely 2 weeks long. The cost of the program is $500.00 for 12 hours of intense training. 3 sessions per week at 2 hours per session.
Extreme Learning Program (By Instructor Approval Only)
The Extreme Learning Program (ELP) is the pinnacle of self defence education cramming. This program is intended as either a catch up program (if you’ve fallen behind in your studies), or as a cram session. This is 12 weeks of course study crammed into 3 days at 8 hours a day. The student must get an Instructor’s approval for this program as it is 3 full days not only for the student but for the instructor as well, and time has to be allotted for this training. For beginner students, this program has the possibility of advancing them multiple ranks and for the advanced students in their last stretch of their training; this can be what will push them over the top.
The Extreme Learning Program can be participated in at any time during the student’s training at the Instructor’s approval. It can even be undertaken during the Advanced Learning Program or Instructor Programs.
Upon completion of the program you will not only have tested for all the ranks you have completed but you will also receive.
The cost of the Extreme Learning Program is $290.00 per person attending; this will cover the cost of 3 breakfasts, 3 snacks, 3 lunchs, and fluids for you during the 3 day period. The fee is to be collected at least 2 weeks before the beginning of the program, prior to your training. Participation in this program will not affect the course payment plan you are currently on, unless it is the couples or group plan, in which case, if all members are not present during the ELP, then their payment status will be reevaluated and appropriate adjustments will be made.
Courses are taught by the level - ten levels with corrosponding belt colors. As study progresses the courses become longer in length as they require more effort and more time.
Attendance Policy The importance that you attend every instruction to its full and complete extent is of paramount importance to the success of the course. Level lengths are approximate, you will not be advanced if the instructor does not believe you to be ready. Payments are not based on how many lessons you attend - they are based on the time the instructor has bocked off for you. If you miss lessons you will not recieve a discount and if you quit early it doesn not entitle you to a refund or dissolusion of debt. The day you start instruction you owe for the rest of the time aloted in that particular course. If you are at level 9 and you miss a whole month of lessons you are still responsible for payment for that month and the rest of the course. The instructor blocked off time whether it was taken or not. If you need additional time for missed classes or must continue instruction before moving on - additional classes will be billed by the month at a discounted rate of $65.00. If you have any further questions on billing you may feel free to contact us
